I had the same problem around this time last year and a month ago...I bought flea bombs at Home Depot and Walmart, put one in each room and that worked each time. Not sure what part of the country you live in, but fleas don't like the cold...so as the weather becomes colder, they fleas should go away

They have a spray that is actually for headlice (don't remember the exact name.) It is made by Wyeth and comes in a white can with red and blue lettering, you get it at your local drug store in the lice section.

Buy Flea collars and put them under the cushons in your sofa, treat your animal with an up to the ears full submerge dip, and spray this stuff on your surfaces that you don't have direct skin to skin contact with.

Rugs, mattresses, curtains. With furniture, pillows (lightly is okay) don't drown them in it as it is somewhat toxic but so are all pesticides.

bag and toss any stuffed animals! They are flea condos!

Treat your animals and KEEP THEM INSIDE! It is not cruel.

First, the most cost effective way is an exterminator. You will spend more in sprays and bombs than you will on an exterminator. Having said that, keep vacuuming 3 or 4x a day, and keep spraying. Wash all bedding, pillows, etc. And keep spraying. Spray inside your vaccum cleaner bag too. They can live inside the bag. Good luck!

What worked for me last summer is I bought those bombs and put one in each bedroom and the living room. You have to leave for a few hours. I also sprayed my yard with this flea stuff you hook up to your water hose from Wal-mart. You have to kill them outside too. Good luck.

I would hire a professional to take care of them. Fleas are really hard to get rid of.
