Because Lincrusta is glued in place { not pasted } it has a tendency to bring half the wall down with it.

the best way is to spikewalls with aspike roller put some soap powder in water this makes it heavier and soakes in better a steamer is good but original lincrusta was made from putty can be messy

I would perforate it and then paint a glue solvent on it with a brush or a roller, let it soak in well and then try a steamer or heat gun and the trusty putty knife. It will be a dirty messy job. Good luck.

hire or buy a wallpaper steamer and scrape it off
