I'm 27 and I have ridiculously high blood pressure. I've done some research and pretty much everything fast food is bad for you. Processed foods like frozen meals (except frozen veggies) is bad. and caffeine drinks like coffee, tea and soda can increase blood pressure. be careful of Subway sandwiches too. they may advertise them as low fat but they are full of sodium. one 6 inch has half your daily allotment of sodium.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

High blood pressure is caused by chronic dehydration. You get dehydrated by not drinking enough water. Another, more common cause of dehydration is being addicted to soft drinks and other non-water drinks. The chemicals contained in these beverages alter the molecular structure of the water they contain so that the body can not use it. The body needs fresh water for fresh functions - so it can direct the water to wherever it's needed the most. It can't do this with water that is already full of toxic waste - it has to expend some of its own water meant for other functions to flush the contaminated water out. Also, you lose about a quart of water through respiration (breathe on a mirror to see this water loss). You lose another quart of water through kidney function. More water is lost through "elimination" and even more is lost through perspiration (you don't actually have to sweat - the body loses water through the pores in the skin. This is how it cools itself to prevent overheating). This water loss must be replaced every day. If it isn't, then vital minerals and vitamins can't get to all of the cells and organs for proper function because water is the main transport vehicle - along with salt, it makes up 94% of the blood. Dehydration is the cause of 99% of health problems including high blood pressure.

whole foods and natural drinks do not cause high blood pressure, in fact the right foods can actually lower blood pressure if they are rich in potassium.
High blood pressure is made worse by too much salt, or two much alcohol.

Sodium-rich foods (and drinks!) are definitely things to watch out for. But don't forget caffeine too - colas, coffee, and the like. They can spike your BP big-time.
