From my understanding, you are generally supposed to wait six months after having a tattoo done before donating blood....
If you want the most reliable information contact your local chapter of the American Red Cross or perhaps ask your doctor about what the guidelines are now for blood donations. They may have changed as there seems to be a bigger shortage of blood now more than ever....maybe they are being more lenient on their requirements.

In England and North Wales you may donate blood 6 months after having a tattoo
if the tattoo is under 12 Months old they like you to mention this.
under 6 months= no
6 to 12 months = mention it.

If you are in the UK the you cannot donate blood until it has been at least a year since you got your last tattoo or peircing. If it has been less than a year then you could pass on a blood infection that has not effected you but if it was not picked up in the blood screening process, it could make someone else extrememly unwell.

yes... In fact the american red cross doesnt care when you got the tattoo anymore, I recently got my last tattoo in June, and donated in July. The didnt even ask me about tattoo's anymore because the safety restrictions in SO MANY tattoo parlors has gone SKY HIGH and are much safer nowadays than 10 years ago. Good luck

Yes, tattoo's don't prevent you donating blood. You cannot donate if you are on medication, if you have been jaundiced, if you have any 'hep' disease or of course if HIV. Your donor clinic will advise. This is UK advice, I do not know about other countries.

Yes, I give regularly and I have a tattoo. They requested that I wait a year before I gave again when I had it done.

when you go to give blood it ask if you've had a tattoo done within the past year. But i don't know if they won't let you if you mark yes.
