A girl should be old enough to date when the parents are secure in her social settings, and can trust her in her judgements, but ideally around 15. For supervision w/o parents, well that is a matter of trust, anywhere from 12 to 17. I wasnt trusted till I was out of high school.

Well, when I was the teen girl, I thought 16 was just ridiculous and my parents were just awful! Now that I am a mom, she can date at 16, but not alone in the house until 18.

There is no set age, whenever the girl is responsible to be alone with a boy. I think you should teach them at a young age, but I would feel that 16 sounds about right, as long as they have the right mind set.

i think it all depends on how trustworthy a teen is first and what kind of trust that person has with her parents if this person is very responsible i would say 15 growing towards 16 to date and be alone with her date .

All depends on how trustworthy you think she is, if you know she will never have underage sex or anything of that nature: I would say 13 or 14. On the other hand if you think there is even the slightest chance she would: 16 or 17.

At the end of the day, (assuming your her mother here) it is your decision. How well do you trust and know your girl.
