Has anyone heard of 4711 cologne and if so, what do you think of it?

I am asking this for research for my university work. If possible, could you also say how old you are, and if you are male/female?

My mother and grandmother use it. They are from Austria, currently live in South Africa, my mom is 60 my grandmother 90.
A lady I take care of, who's 76 and also from Austria, uses it as well.
It is a Viennese fragrance, but is commonly perceived as a "old lady" perfume.
It has a unique fragrance, not flowery and sweet, but rather serious.
