that had happened to me numerous times. I twist the wrong way and it pops out and when i stand back up it goes back in. I have loose kneecaps which is why I get the popping so often. I also have had ACL and MCL injuries. But the doctor said that loose kneecaps can cause that, not usually the ACL and MCL. You probably have a build up of fluid around your knee to help cushion it more now, but that creats unbearable pressure sometimes. The best thing you can do is go to an orthopedic surgeon and get it checked out and possibly get some meds for the pain. Goodluck!

It is very serious. It could be a dislocated patella, but sounds more like a bad sprain. The kneecap is held on by a strong tendon and if you have damaged that, it could be causing the pain.

Get to A&E or ER depending on where you are and get it checked out. Most long term injuries occur when not treated quickly enough

it may not be a dislocated patella but i would see a doctor anyway. it could be caused by the outside muscle of the quad being stronger the the inside muscle which would cause the patella to shift. this can be taken care of by a tape job and working the quad muscles with the patella in the correct position. this is commonly done in physical therapy if a doctor feels like that is necessary.

Sounds like you're double jointed in the knee and it's "relocated" as opposed to "dislocated."

See your school doctor. Just tell them you sit and fell and act as if you are in real pain and they'll help you out right away.

Do NOT act as if it is a minor inconvenience or they will not give you high priority. Act as if you are dying.

I recall one time, I was suffering from a horrible case of food poisoning, but, because this whiner, who hurt his pinky, was moaning as if his head got chopped off, he cut 20 places in front of quiet me.

Was I upset about that? Oh I was upset all right, so I threw up right in front of everyone to make a point.

sorry for changing the subject.

well you should see an orthopedist, they specialize in these things. You might have torn the ligament that surrounds your kneecap.
