I'd have a hard time letting a Creationist watch my child.

I wouldn't care either way. My child has been brought up to make her own decisions, so noone would be able to influence her in any way. Here's a tidbit for ya though...
Darwin was not an atheist..... he was a deist, he believed that some creating intelligence had designed the universe and set up natural laws according to which all of nature was unwaveringly governed. So Darwin himself believed in a higher power.

Is it ok to relate evolutionist, with abortionist? The former preaches, what the latter practices. Would you let some one look after your own child, if you knew they made a living killing unborn children? Ok, the evolutionist only 'believes' it's natural selection when a mother aborts her child, and I know the evolutionist doesn't actually do it. But it's the thought that counts...right?

p.s. I have yet to hear one evolutionist condemn abortion, on strictly moral issue of the sanctity of life...any one care to comment?

I wouldn't care. I'm a Creationist, I don't care if an Evolutionist watches my kids. It might make for some interesting dinner conversation the next night.

I would let either watch my kids. I am a Creationist but would not object to having an Evolutionist babysit. If my kids come to me with views other than what I believe and what we teach them, we talk about the subject from both viewpoints. My oldest wondered why his book said noone knows why dinosaurs became extinct. We looked at other ideas and I told him what we as Christians believe. Ultimitely, he will have to choose what he believes for himself. But I'm always praying for them to choose Christ's path!

Most of our friends and family I feel safe enough to leave my kids with have the same beliefs we do, so it's not usually an issue. Do you feel your kids are safe with this person? Don't keep them from other viewpoints, talk it through with your sitter & your kids.

Don't care!

Would I let a creationist teach my children the biblical story of creation in school?

No!

And that's the only issue in which it comes into play for me.

Well, since just about all of my family member are creationists, I'd have to say sure, and I have many times. I do not want to shelter my son from the normal human experience, and part of that is observing various human behaviors. He has been to church with them a few times, and he feels it is not for him. I am very proud of him coming to this conclusion on his own. I have always let him know that it is O.K. to believe if he wants to. He just doesn't want to. Such a good boy.

Wow are you mad because other people don't believe that theory evolution? If you haven't noticed evolution hasn't happened in humans just because we have the same features as apes, monkeys, chimps, doesn't mean we came from them. And if we did then everyone would be like Donkey Kong by now.

If they are your children, then is your responsability to watch for them, care for them. And you can decide two things, let a (creationist) christian watch for them (at least they wont hurt your kids) or let a evoolutionist (who can do more damage that telling some one about God to your kids). So decide yourself, and PAY THE PRICE...

judge the babysitter on the strength of their character. You are starting from an assumption that a non-christian does not have good character or is not reliable. Would you rather get one of the thousands of christians in jail to watch your child?

I would check them for all religious material (i.e. Bibles, pamphlets containing the Ten Commandments, etc.) promptly at the door.

Haha, just kidding. I don't really see why not. I can't imagine a babysitter would be trying to convert my kid or anything. But if they did, then that's a different story.
