Are you sure the adj got the letter? My company had a document center and it was not uncommon for correspondence not to make it into a file if the claim number was not on the letter. It is possible he/she never got it.

Is it YOUR insurance adjuster, or someone else's? I mean, is it YOUR policy? Or someone else's? And how long did you wait?

If it's not your policy, the adjuster has NO duty to you - you'll have to sue the person insured, and get a judgement in court.

If it's YOUR policy, call the company, and ask to talk to a claims supervisor, and tell them you just want the claim settled, and don't want to have to file a "bad faith" lawsuit against the company.

I hope you gave the adjuster a minimum of 10 business days to respond?

I would call them and ask them if they received it and if they did how long it would be before they would reply with an offer. Consider this, most claims adjusters have around 100 claims or so, it's going to take some time for them to evaluate your demand and respond with an offer. Keep in mind the squeaky whell gets the grease, just keep in touch on a regular basis, be reasonable and courteous, and you should be able to resolve your claim.

Too little information, but normally 30 days to respond is standard. It varies from state to state. Did you call about a response to the letter? That would be a logical first step and up the chain of command if you need to.
