turned on my PC and basically is at a stop due to the fact that slcmsetup2.exe is pretty much taken over the CPU and does about 500KB-1.0MB of disk I/O...

I cannot stop it via Task Manager or Services. I cannot find the file on my desktop nor do I get a result when I do an Internet search on it...

I have several Anti-Spyware software packages installed and none of them pick it up...

This process is not recognized by any process list I use. So, you should disable it while you work on removing it.

First, if possible, boot into safe Mode.
Run the Configuration Module, by clicking Start - Run
Then type msconfig and hit enter.
Go to the STARTUP tab, and search the list for this process.
Click the checkbox, so that it is UNCHECKED.
click OK and then restart your machine.
This will keep the process from starting up when you start your machine. Now you should search out where this file is, and how to get rid of it. (Deleting it may not be as good as uninstalling the program it came with.) Search the internet some more for ideas on how to get this thing uninstalled.
