My brother and his friends have been arguing about this for months so i thought i would get a broader point of view the fight would be between the actual actors not any parts they have played any points of view would be very much appreciated and the mor people that answer the quicker i can get them to stop going on about it

ah, the question that will never go away...
steven seagal would seriously kick van-***! no matter how fast he is, skill in aikido would take out most opponents. plus, i'm not sure how doing the splits between two chairs is going to help.

Steven Seagal may be a little past his prime... but I believe that his skill is a just a bit more than flash stuff for the camera.
Judging the amount of times Van-Damme has landed on his butt after a fight breaks out you can't bet on him. Also, when you considering JCVD's drug abuse stories, Seagal would be nailed on to win.

Both are crappy actors, who produce crapper movies. Steven Seagal, in his prime would kick the crap out of Van Damme in his prime. As martial artist Seagal is far superior and actually competed and received honors. Van Damme is a body builder and pretty boy. Chuck Zito 'pimp slapped' Van Damme out cold too without putting up a fight.

Steven Segal would probably win because Jean Claude is more about showing off than actual combat.. neither are that great though.. plus Steven Segal looks like he's getting out of shape.. Jackie Chan and Jet Li both have a ton more skill than these two guys..

Although I think Jean Claude Van Damme is hotter. Steven Seagal is a 7th-dan black belt in aikido and a few years ago JCVD was in a real-life fight with his former bodyguard (yes, even he as to have a bodyguard) at a strip bar and hit the floor after his former bodyguard hit him.

Segal would win.
Van damme is no more than a ballerina.
Segal might be an annoying fat *** movie actor, but supposedly he actually has some skill. While people do debate the effectiveness of Aikido because it doesn't train with resistance, I would highly doubt that Van Damme's ballet training would give him any advantage.

Your kidding right! Steven Seagal would break Van Damme bones, he might get a kick or two, but he would be eliminated!
Jackie Chan wouldn't have a change either, Norris would fall also.

If you've watched any of their movies, Van Damme does most of his stuff in slow motion while Steve does everything at full speed.
The fight would start and before Van Damme could even get through the bow Steve would have broken every finger and limb on his body.
put either one of then in Pride or UFC and then watch either one get their *** kicked by the low end guys.

Seagal.
Van Damme got beaten up by Dolf Lundgren and old Steven is about as good as Dolf in a fight so he could also beat up Van Damme.
