There is a section in the bible that touches drinking, I'll try and find it, Ecclesiastes 31:6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
7 Let him drink and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
Timothy 7:23
Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake, and thine often infirmities.

So yeah, that's the go ahead, but the difference is drinking and DRUNKENESS< slight difference. Maybe switch up the beer with wine sometimes, (I believe red wine is the healthy one) maybe for dates! God is so smart!

Is it a sin for me to answer this question of yours?

Personal judgement really is the answer here. Have a drink if you want to and dont nuke the subject too much.

Do you need validation from a bunch of strangers on this subject? Let's start with the "are you old enough to be legally drinking?" question and the "Are you planning to drive anywhere while under the influence of drink?" question first. That to me is more important that deciding if it's a sin to drink.

As an afterthought, I've heard that getting laid is a wonderful way to reduce stress!

*No it's not a sin but drinking beer or any type of alcohol is not a good idea.Try and find others ways to reduce stress as when your drinking becomes a problem, it wll only bring up your stress levels then you'll be looking for something else to ease the stress from that too. Try excersizing, take a walk, take a long hot bath or try meditation to relieve some stress.(A good body massage)Good Luck.*

Depends on what level school. College is fine - grade school no.

A few beers a week - maybe one a day or so - is not going to cause alcoholism and might even be good for you. If you are going to be alcoholic a part is genetic and then you don't want to be drinking at all. But for R&R nothing wrong with that.

Moderation is the key.

It's not a sin but you are well on your way to dependency and alcoholism if you don't stop. Exercising is an excellent stress release or putting on headphones and really blasting your most comforting music can relax you. Beer is a set back not a solution.

Jesus told them, "Fill the jars with water." So they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter." So they took it. And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, ... (John 2:7-9)

Wine is used throughout both the Old and New Testaments. The first recorded miracle of Jesus was to turn water in wine at the wedding in Cana.

It is true that we should not become drunk but used in moderation, wine is a biblically acceptable beverage.

Go, eat your bread with joy and drink your wine with a merry heart, because it is now that God favors your works. (Ecclesiastes 9:7)

What would Jesus do? Jesus had a cup of wine with dinner.

If some people wish to totally forego alcohol to eliminate the temptation to over indulge, that's fine. But I don't think they should force that unbiblical teaching onto others.

With love in Christ.

If you're a PhD, you really should know that sin is a creation of human beings. It's a sin if it makes you feel bad, otherwise it's fine. Remember, moderation in all things.

Any sin..is NOT what you do.

It is in your heart WHY you do it.

.Period. Contrary too popular belief.
.
Point being. The "love" of money is probably the biggest sin, or most common sin.

God Himself waits to make people RICH, and wealthy.

So..money is not a sin. It's in your heart, how you use it.

yes! repent! you sinned and will burn in hell!

oh please! it's all bollocks. i tell you what you should enjoy yourself, but always in the right amount. if that makes you feel better, whatever ppl say the situation will remain the same. it is a sin to your own self. think about you, not about all these things that have been put into your mind just to scare the **** out of you for every single action you make.
