There is a difference between stupid and ignorant, so you can be either or both. Nice use of the word 'redundant' though, so you're probably not that ignorant. :)

It isn't redundant because being ignorant is completely different from being stupid.
Ignorant : uneducated in general; lacking knowledge or sophistication
Stupid : unintelligent: lacking intelligence

Stupidity is lack of intelligence or slow to learn and ignorancy is unawareness or lacking education. Very similiar, but not the same. Anyone who would call you that is rude and insensitive !!
