For nighttime medicine, diphenhydramine is incorporated which could put one into sleep giving better rest. Obviously, daytime medicine doesn't have this drug to keep the person taking it awake.

Nighttime cold medications have a sleep aid. Daytime medications do not.

Well from my understanding daytime cold medicines are suppose to work on you and not make you drowsy but night time is for you when you need the rest and it works on you better when you have the rest you need. And besides night time medicines do make you drowsy..Believe me I know for a fact.

Daytime has chemicals to keep you up while night time has chemicals to put you to sleep. Look on the active ingredients label and just research for 5 minutes online tops.

Night time cough syrup it ment to taken at night because it has something that help you go to sleep. And day time syrup does not contain the substance that makes you sleepy.

There's sleep rx, or drowsying type rx or alcohol in the nite time meds.

benadryl (diphenhydramine) and sometimes alchol are in the night stuff to help you sleep. Not in day.
