I was permed (relaxed) for over 12 years. I've been natural for a little over a year now. I love it. I'm pretty sure I will never go back to relaxing my hair. It is so healthy & it is growing really fast. If anyone is thinking about going natural, I would highly recommend it.
As for the term nappy, I consider myself nappy. Alot of natural's do. I don't find the term offensive or not. I think it best describes the texture of my (our) hair.

Well I relax, not because its nappy. Its very curly and when I relax it, it helps tame the frizz. So I can just wash and go without having to use a million different products. Now I only have to use two. Ganier Sleek and Shine Serum and Hot Six Oil for moisture and I am done ready to walk out the door.

Nappy? Girl dont say that. Its garbage. That was a racist propaganda that whites used against blacks because their hair wasnt as smooth and silky as theirs. NOTE AS. There is no such thing as nappy or "good" hair. Dont give into that so called white supremacy idea that we have hair that isnt good enouggh so society insists that we straighten it. Dont give in to the idea that we have to dress ourselves up for that reason. There are blacks as dark as night that have straight hair...as there are light skinned blacks that have a curlier, more intricate texture. I think that black women should just be natural. Stop perming(thats white men's trash ) and stop putting weaves and all that other garbage into your heads. God made us in a particular way and gave us our own unique beauty. We are the only race that is trying to doll ourselves up (well majority of the races) with these manmade mechanisms like hot combs and junk knowing damn well that we have never seen Beyonce Knowles with her natural hair color. That girl know she aint blonde. Anyways i had to say something about that because way too many black women on here dont know the truth. Blessed be

Hair can't aty healthy looking for long with too many chemicals put on it. So I don't have nappy hair and I don't perm my hair. I like mine healthy and shiny, not dried out and frizzled.

Permed and I roll it up nightly so I can have Spiral Curls and on weekends I wear a wrap or just comb out the curls and have loose curls.
