It didn't happen yet. Your friend was wrong. The entire world will know when it happens.

No one knows the day or hour. But it is true that those who believe in God and His Son Jesus Christ will be taken to heaven at the second coming of Christ. Read below what the Bible says about this.

1 Thessalonians 4:16. With a loud command and with the shout of the chief angel and a blast of God's trumpet, the Lord will return from heaven. Then those who had faith in Christ before they died will be raised to life. 17. Next, all of us who are still alive will be taken up into the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the sky. From that time on we will all be with the Lord forever. (CEV)

As far as the rapture is concerned if you read your Bible it says in The doubters may mention Paul's words that the day of the Lord will come like "a thief in the night" (1 Thessalonians 5:2). Jesus said, “If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee” (Revelation 3:3). He is obviously saying that to the one who watches. In other words I doubt that your friend actually knows the time or day in this instance, but I do know that god is coming so be prepared. As for your friend tell them they need to talk to a spiritual advisor and they will help get them straight.

It went fine. A quarter of the Earth's population vanished and the rest of us are still here left behind to face Thanksgiving and Christmas without a prayer.

Rapture is another unhealthy, unnatural obsession of Christians. They pose a danger to society with their warped fantasies.

It was a letdown. They were going to cover it on Fox, but the live coverage got replaced by the Yankees game.
