A poster here on Y!A admitted that her husband was illegal and that if America doesn't start to offer visa's to all illegal workers, the wives "will apply for every type of welfare offered and suck our system dry!".

I really don't know what to say to that kind of ignorance. Im amazed that this kind of stupidity exists in our world. Its a good thing that authoritative positions in this country require education!

Yes, there are questionable factors in our government, but by my statement, Im referring higher political positions. Even though there are some ligitimit concerns about our government, can you imagine what a life we would be living if we accepted our political officials to take a position with only an eight grade education?? This is my point really.

Yes the wife's of the law breakers are as guilty as the illegals them selves and it is a crime to protect the illegal, aid and abet them. Its a federal felony and must start being enforced. How you could have any pride in being a law breaker is beyond my comprehension .Unless he /she is your meal ticket which may be that persons case .

Here is the law below..

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or

* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest,

Some of the stuff said on Yahoo, has to be taken with a grain of salt. People say things to provoke others. Likely, if she has this kind of mentality about life, she's already applied for every kind of welfare. And I highly doubt this reflects all the illegal population, as they would be intelligent enough to realize that this would only hinder their endeavors to become legalized.

Carol, it's a crazy world we live in and, unfortunately, the crazy parts have arrived here in the US already. Funny how illegals and expatriots from everywhere else tend to get a sense of entitlement once here.

Fortunately, the sources of illegal employment are drying up, so we will see how that plays out: either an exodus or an overwhelming of our social services.

Well, they are sucking the system dry. If you don't think so, go to the Department of Human Resources in your area and take a seat.
You will look like a marshmallow in a coal bin.

I think a dual moratorium on both welfare and ALL immigration for 15 years or so would do a lot to clear things up...

They already suck our system dry.
If they come to work then work don't use they system to support their 18 kids. That includes Americans too. Use it to get on your feet then get off the well fare. I used the system and now I am working and got off it.
