their are so many variables in the answer - when you first start to excesise you will loose lots in the first week or so (this will be water) and will go back up when your body rehydrates, the bonus is your metabolism will increase with excersise and good diet which will help with long term results. there is no clear cut winner for anyone a good combination of eating the right foods at the right times!!(important) and some good excersise (even if that is just walking that bit further, taking stairs instead of lifts etc) will help. dont get hung up on quick diets as you need a lot of knowledge to find which one best suits your body, often with diets your body will store fat thinking your starving. best advice is to have a little of everything and excersise. we were all brought up to finish the food on our plates when in fact we often give far too much in portion size. eat till your full. have a good search on line get some interesting menus for foods you like and find better ways to cook them ie grill ibstead of fry. all the little changes will help. your local GP or Leiure centre will be able to provide some good info. good luck i hope you achieve your goal.

From what I know, the healthy way for an adult to lose weight is somewhere around 1 to 2 pounds a week. If you're starting up a new diet or exercise routine it might be likely to lose a little bit more than this in the beginning, but that too should slow down once your body gets used to the new routine. I would say probably 2 to 3 months.

That's entirely up to you...there is not formula. It depends on your start weight an where you store your fat, your eating habits, your workout routine...I'm 5'2 and I workout 5-6 days a week while eating very healthy and I would say if you do what I do you should lose that weight in 3-4 months.

There is no average. There are so many diets and everyone is different. Depends on YOUR body, how much you eat, how much you exercise and how faithful you are to the diet.
