first off you tell him that you cant be with him for whatever reason and then tell him that if he really cares about you or even has the littlest feelings for you he wouldnt do anything to hurt himself bc you still care about him....

You need to get out of that,now! I was with a guy who had some mental issues and did get to that point. Do you want to stay with someone out of guilt? No. Tell his family and friends what you're doing and that they need to keep an eye on him and then break up with him. It's up to his family and friends to take care of him, not you. Then make a clean break. Don't answer the phone, no email, let it go. It's going to be hard for a while. Once you start feeling the freedom again though, you'll be very greatful.

listen,dont fall for that one i tried it myself,it only lets the person(U) feel like you have to be with him,he might do something else daft like,become an alcoholic and start pestering u when hes drunk and try to win you over that way(thats what hes thinking),best thing to do is just get out of there.hell hurt u more than ever,i understand what hes going through but most people i know,would nivver have the bottle/guts to do it.if its over its over sweetheart,dont let,soz to say, the idiot or any idiots hit u with that line u deserve better. :-)
