I have heard the news reports about serveral people gettin sick from eating spinach. Yesterday someone told me that now they are saying that lettuce is contaminated, as well. Is this trur? If so, is it certain kinds of lettuce of all that I should be watchful of?

Yes Lettuce is unsafe right now. The Brand Foxy is said to be the most cases found with contaminations. Stay away for a while. So far I think 9 states have had recalls.

When ever you buy fresh or bagged produce it is best to protect yourself by thoroughly washing it. Even if it something like cantaloupe and you will be removing the rind.
To be very subtle about it, have you ever seen a restroom in a spinach field or any crop field?
