Dishnetwork has fewer contract requirements (even a pay as you go option) and generally has better customer service. but not always.

Unfortunately all TV providers have problems! Even Satellite TV. While I don't know where you live, You will at least experience outages "- Total loss of signal" twice during the year for 10 minutes a day for 5 - 10 days during "Sun Outage time" (When the sun and the Satellite is in line with your dish) and depending on Your location "Rain Fade" ( loss of signal due to heave rain Drops) so If you are in say the Florida area which is known to have Heavy rain periods your experience rain outages several time a day! beside that, Digital satellite is Wonder full!! HDTV is awesome!! You'll pay mere but it's worth it! Selection is second to none..Any channel your heart desires is out there! in multiple languages! The best deal is to get a trial Package for new subscriber to help you not commit to long term charges later on...

I thought that it was Fair for you to know the other side of your choices!!
I've been in the communications industry ..(Forever) and I Sympathize to your problems with your local Cable company...If You halfway like you cable co. and Want service from them Call the regulatory commission for your area or Contact the Regional Engineering Director or manager's Office, That will light a Fire under the locals office Technical team to eliminate the problem....period!!!!

Good luck!!!

I have Directv and as of right now they are not the leader in HD channels

But they have launched a few satellites that promise to bring many more in the near future. Also what they are doing is bring the local HD channels to its customers first then the national channels

So right Now Dish is the leader in HD with almost 30 channels but they are channels that no one ever heard of. They Voom which was an all HD Satellite company. It failed beacause no one wanted the channels that they were offering. Dish bought them out and now broadcasts those channels.

Many feel that by next year Directv will be the leader in HD by far.

Check out number 10

I have been a customer of Direct TV for the past two years and I'll honestly tell you that they have yet to let me down. Their customer service has been great and their pricing is a lot better than cable (which I had for over 10 years). Another good note about them is the fact that if you happen to move while you are their customer, they will install a new dish at your new location for free. Good deal if you ask me.

I have DirecTV. I like it pretty good. The deposit was 50 dollars less than Dish Network. DirecTV gives you back your deposit by taking $10 off your bill every month until the deposit is used up. So if your deposit is $150 you would get $10 off your bill every month for 15 months. Also my local channels are included and not extra.
If you do decide to order DirecTV please call this number 1-866-GIFT-TO-YOU and mention that a DirecTV customer referred you and give them my account number :033284383 Thanks.

No. It exchange into mandatory to liberate great chunks of the instantaneous spectrum, that's a constrained source. Analog television broadcast used a extensive quantity of the spectrum in an exceedingly inefficient way. digital television makes use of much less bandwidth.
