Hi Glitter
the strangest thing that i have eaten is BIRD SEED, Now i didn't mean to eat it, there's a Laxative which looks like bird seed and i had them both in the same cupboard. Well it was nite time so i took the seeds and left them on the shelf and just went on to bed. When i got up the next morning to have breakfast yes i was SHOCK to see that i had taken the Budgie seeds instead of the ones to make me go to the loo. I took some slagging over that one

Your question is relative to which part of the world in which you live.
I saw a programme on TV the other day, in which the Chinese, (in some parts - after all, it is an enormous country), were eating stir fried frogs and other live yukky stuff, plus boiled terrapins. Yeuk!
I have eaten crocodile in Africa, like tasteless, rubbery shoe leather. OK, but not worth the bother.
Several countries enjoy seaweed. I love Welsh Lava Bread, with bacon, egg and toast.

Someone said rabbit. But I used to have rabbit quite ofte in England - not that strange.
I've had deep fried rattlesnake in Arizona & pigeon pie in Marrakesh. But even though it's not that unusual, I still think the deep fried calamari in the Olympic Park at the 2000 Olympics was the strangest - I still remember the taste (wish I coudl forget it).

A ladybird hidden in the raspberries at the bottom of a trifle that my dad made. Not to be recommended, it was the most bitter thing I've ever tasted and it's the only thing in my entire life that has had me openly spit the contents of my mouth out onto the kitchen table in front of my family. If this is anything to go by nature's idea to make nasty tasting bugs red is a good one!

The most horrible thing I think I have tried is a raw oyster. I love them fried but never tried a raw one. One day I just had to put my curiosity to an end and tried one. I was right all along. Like eating a booger. Not that I have ever tried a booger but it was gooey and slimy like a booger. Yuk.

My #1 gal is from Japan, and some of her food seems strange to Americans. How about live shrimp and lobster? The flesh of the lobster is cut into flower petal patterns, but not enough to kill it. Koreans swallow small octopii whole, but I've never tried that yet. I have no Korean lovers.
