"I don't hate you, but I'll campaign to make sure you don't have the same rights that I have. I don't hate you, but I won't let you teach my kids in school, or heaven forbid lead a boy scout troup. I don't hate you, but I don't want people like you living in my neighborhood. I don't hate you, but I think you're sick and you totally disgust me. I don't hate you, but I want to block your freedoms however I can. I don't hate you, but no way am I ever going to accept you. I don't hate you, but I want you to change who you are to please me and my personal religious values."

Actually, "love the sinner, hate the sin" is an admirable outlook and slogan. Who hasn't made mistakes in his or her life? Does that make a person utterly worthless for life? Have there not been criminals who have seen the error of their ways and turned their lives around completely?

Of course, being homosexual is not even in the same category. The plain reality is that homosexuality harms absolutely no one, unlike the persecution of homosexuals by some religious people, spurred by their irrational fears and scripture-inspired bigotry.

You must not be a Christian. Christians are supposed to love everyone. Jesus said the most important commands were 1. Love God with all of your heart, mind and soul and 2. Love each other. He didn't use the word "except" in there. Since when is sin in any way shape or form innocent? Since when is one man any less a sinner than the next?

If you look to the government for inspiration, then the government is clearly your god.

I pray love finds its way into your heart.

Murder is an act of complete disrespect for the very life of another person whereas the sins of gay people are consensual among themselves. The difference is that gay people are still alive and can potentially repent of their sins. A murderer ignored the rights of another and took away from the victim the gift God game them -- life. In doing so, the murderer is deserving of the removal of his right to live by the very fact that he took it away from another. While gay people will have to deal with the effects of their actions -- whether it be dealing with AIDS, the social effects, the feelings of guilt (assuming they were brought up in a religious household where it was presented as wrong), or most importantly, a lost relationship with God -- Christians are to love everyone, even their enemies. So certainly gay people are not our enemies, they are people who are potentially repentant and who have commited sins only against God and themselves...their actions aren't against a person who is not consenting to a gay act. So in answer to your question, it is not unfair to love the gays but hate the sin.

You are trying to combine mans laws and ways with Gods laws and ways and they are for the most part incompatible.

I do not hate any person, including the ones that I find repulsive, however I do stay away from ones that would tempt me and harm me. I hate their sin, I hate my own sin.

Murderers are punished here on earth as well as many other law breakers, but there is another judgement coming for them as well as the rest of us. That is the one that matters, and God will judge the heart, not the act.

If your heart was accepting of God as your creator and Jesus Christ as your personal savior, you are judged rightous. If it wasnt, you are judged unworthy. It is as simple as that. Man just tries to make it more difficult and detailed.

Yes....Mean small-minded bigots always seem to worship a God with the very same characteristics as themselves...how's that!

Or how about... Murder is a crime but gay love is not...how do you like that one as a new slogan?

Sins don't exist in the conventional world, only in the religious world. Sin is a product of the church, and church is a product of controlling people, and people are what made up this myth called sin.

Unfair, I think so. Bigoted, arrogant, and incredibly stupid? ****, yeah!

As far as the government should be concerned with all Christian principles goes, I like this story:

Sen. Nancy Jacobs, a Republican who represents Harford and Cecil counties, engaged in an impassioned debate with Jamie Raskin, a constitutional law professor from American University, over the influence of the Bible on modern law.

“As I read Biblical principles, marriage was intended, ordained and started by God - that is my belief,” she said. “For me, this is an issue solely based on religious principals.”

Raskin shot back that the Bible was also used to uphold now-outlawed statutes banning interracial marriage, and that the constitution should instead be lawmakers’ guiding principle.

“People place their hand on the Bible and swear to uphold the Constitution; they don’t put their hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the Bible,” he said.

Who says being Gay is a sin? Not the Bible, despite what you may think. Some humans interpret the Bible that way, but that's just an interpretation.
