I am from California.
I was born three blocks east of Highway 101 and have always lived within a few miles of 101, though in different towns and cities.
The Spanish moss that grows on California oaks is not the same as the moss in Louisiana, and doesn't even look similar, except maybe when viewed from about 500 feet away.
