The best way is montessori method which says the children emulate mother between the age of 0-2.
So whatever mother does ,it is imprinted in the child's mind and she is the role model for the child.
So they are given vegetables to cut with a blunt knife, sweeping swabing which parents do not allow to copy and there are so many other activities.
You can read books to them, show them pictures, sing rhymes, bhajans, count vegetables, things and also teach them values by practising in front of the child, like praying, sharing ,etc and not by mere preaching.

Of course they need teaching how else will they learn! At this time speach is important so talking to them when ever you can is so important. Counting the stairs will begin to inplant an idea of number. I would say the most important thing a child can develop is a love of learning, get it right now and so many of the problems others who have "left it to nature" regarding homeworks and attitudes to learning will not be making you lose hair or sleep.
Good luck and remember you are their role model.

Hi, Abhay. The child in the age group of 0 to 2 years needs no teaching and training. 'Leave the child to Nature', says, Rousseau. Playway, singing, study of nature, understandng the objects around us, good habits of primary activities etc. are enough for the child of that age. We shoud not try to train according to our ambitions, since the child at that tender age should not be burdened with the thoughts of our own.

playing with your child using both modern and ancient ways at an early age is best ...talking ,reading, counting in both bring it into play time ..make it fun... its never to early to help a child learn anything ...I am a teacher and I have some students just now learning alphabet , colors , numbers and spelling their names kindergarten class, parents should take the time to to teach their child basics easier for the child when he gets into school and knows something other than just watching TV or Video games which most know how to do !! but not the basic skills amazing to me !!

Children learn best through play, let them enjoy their life before they have all the pressures of being a "grown-up".
Role playing is a time-honored way of learning, set up play kitchens, offices, etc. and let the child decide how and what they want to play with. Too many people over-structure their children's lives in hopes of giving them an advantage, then wonder why the teen suicide rate is so high and school shootings are so common.

Kindly leave this child alone to enjoy this childhood. The world has become so insecure that when they growup they can not live like normal human beings. Those days are gone.
