Yes, credit card companies are heartless and it gives them a hard on to charge the card user interest and fees. You credit rating will not be affected by this one transacgtion. It takes several overlimit charges before your credit rating is affected.

Will this affect your credit? YES Any time you use more than 30% of your available credit limit you reduce your score A card coming close to the max can lower a score by 100 points - easily Employers check, so do landlords and car insurance companies (higher premiums)

Most likely, yes. But you may be able to call on the phone RIGHT NOW and make a small payment, an in exchange they may waive the fee. They actually are usually prettynice if you just call.

It probably won't affect your score, but you can almost guarantee they'll charge you if you don't ask them not to. You might call them and ask to have it waived, if this is the first time. Also, if you have solid payment history, you can request they increase your line.
Every time I turn around, they're increasing my line without asking, so a lot of times if you have a better record, they'll cut you some slack. Good luck.

Capital One does. and our is almost 30 bucks, not 25...it doesn't appear to affect our credit rating as it's happened twice through my husband not remembering when they're going to hit us with the 'annual service fee' thingy. They hit you with that, then charge you for being 'over limit'. Like it was your idea!

I WAS over my credit limit by 4 bucks but this was due to them tagging on the interest. i didnt charge over the amoutn but the interest in the middle of the billing cycle made me go over. i called providian and they said they would take it off. they told me i had to wait 2-3 billing cycles. keep an eye on it and make sure they retract it. if you forget then im sure they will conveniently forget. I had to call them 2 months later to get it removed. put it on yur calender to do list. good luck im sure they might take off the fee

Probably. Those fees are triggered by a computer. Call the company and talk to a PERSON. I have had luck that way. Good luck!
