Depends in which country, some have laws that stipulate age
limits to enable jumping the queue. In Brazil, a lady of 60+ or a
a man of 65+ or a pregnant woman, or the incapacitated at any
age can jump the queue, and law demands that all banks, supermarkets, notaries, post offices etc. these folk have a
special queue and, if not, can be attended in front of the others.
I am 69 with a broken vertebrae (L5) and all disks from (L5) down
are pressured or have hernias, so I have to wear a corset with steel rods on either side of my spine and also on the sides, which
immobilises by spine and body movement. Surgery is out of question, so what should I do, wait in a long queue when I can
hardly stand up? Well, in my case it is so obvious that I never
have to wait, law or unlawfully, people always help me and,
frankly, I feel rather embarrassed but very grateful for all the
help I receive. People seem to be happy in helping me and, if
I refuse, they would be offended. This was not an accident, I
overdid my sporting talents into the mid fifties until I simply
broke up. How would you feel in my position, I believe just
as grateful as I do, or not?

There's a difference between a favour freely given and one that is taken without it first being offered. Women, will generally not queue jump another women, but they will definately try it on with a man. It's a case of, we are equal, until I say that we are not. A lot depends on circumstances, but I think that an old person should normally be given priority. Some of your respondents have a bad attitude, but, ironically, would probably have more sympathy with young disabled people, because they have been brainwashed by the disabilities police.

I am probably old in your terms. I have a special walking stick which converts into a stool for queueing in the bank (it can take as much as one and a half hours where I live) because I would find it a strain to stand still for that long in the heat and because I don't queue jump. I could have sold my stick-stool over and over again, but hang on to it jealously! Queueing is a very British thing to do and such old people as I have seen queue jumping in the UK have been foreigners.

Because for some strange reason, unbeknown to the rest of the population, they think they are better than anyone else and that their time is so much more precious.

I never let anyone jump in front of me in a queue, I've waited patiently and so has everyone else, just because they're old doesn't mean they're entitled to some unwritten privilege.

Cause most old bitches are just that. I hate those older women they are usually in their late 60's and they walk around with their nose in the air and think that the lines dont apply to them. I was in Panera bread 2 days ago and everyone knows you order at the register and get your drink and then wait at the other end till your food is called. This woman was standing at the pick up counter all hovering over everyones food. Then when the guys were calling bumbers she was like I dont know what mine is and started opening all the bags and looking inside. I almost dies. So I walked over to her and said "Excuse me that is rude to open other peoples bag and rummage through them" she said "I lost my receipt and I am making sure its not my order" and I said" its a 20 pace walk from the register how could you loose your receipt that quickly" that ***** had it in her hand and was just looking through the bags for whatever reason. I wanted to rip open her bag and snot rocket in her food I was so disgusted.

Maybe they feel tt they have the privelage and tk advantage of it. What can we do? Beat them up? We can only talk about them but stil they are goin to cut queue. Just bear with it and forget it. Or make a big fuss and embarrass them.

I don't know but numerous times old people have pushed into me and looked at me in disgust as if I'd done something wrong. Also waiting for me to apologise. I can't wait to be old you can do and talk about anything. All my grankids could say is 'oh gran' and I'd just grin.
