Actually it depends on what kind of filling and how deep. If it was a "tooth" colored filling (a resin composite) you can eat immediately afterwards because the curing light sets it up immediately. If it was a "silver" (amalgam) filling, then you should wait 1 - 2 hours afterwards to eat. Also if you were numbed during the restoration, you should be careful not to bite your tongue and/or cheek. You can drink immediately after either filling. If you eat too soon after your "silver" filling you run the risk of cracking the filling. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Eat normally an hour after a filling.

You should be able to drink and eat right away, as long as it's not irritating to you or causing you discomfort. Fillings aren't like having a root canal or a tooth removed, once the procedure is done, it's done, there is no healing process involved.

I don't know your condition, so I can't quote you. I would probably wait a day or so and just drink broth and tap beverages. Something too hot or too cold may effect your filling. I can't believe your dentist did'nt inform you of what you should do at home. I certainly would'nt be going back to him to dig in my mouth. Glad you made it out of there safe.

Basically you can eat and drink when the anaesthetic has worn off unless your Dentist told you otherwise.

usually the dentist will tell you not to eat anything for a few hrs..and you could probly drink right know, but use a straw, it wont irritate you as much.

usually it is whenever the numbing medicine wears off (wouldn't hurt to wait another 30mins afterwards). the fillings themselves may be a little extra sensitive afterwards particularly to cold.
