Typically, mind you typically, women loose fat in there chest and stomach first and there hips and *** last. At 187, 3 lbs a week is probably at first - anything more and your reaching unhealthly levels that won't last. Eventually you should she a consistant 1-2 lbs a week. Also, remember you can't spot reduce. This means you can't just work your *** and expect to loose the weight in just that spot. Overall fat loss is going to happen. Weight loss is only possible when you burn more calories than you consume.

First of all, DO NOT get into any of these fad diets that are out there. Every few years there is a new fad diet, and of course it doesn't last. You will lose weight on them initially (maybe at the expense of raising your cholesterol or depriving your skin and body of vitamins) but ultimately you will gain all the weight back and maybe even more. Unfortunately, it has been proven time and time again that the only way to lose weight and keep it off is a change in lifestyle and mindset. Portion control: how much you eat when you sit down to eat, What you eat: moderation of everything, The dreaded exercise, and most of all enjoying it so you will stay with it. I have lost quite a bit of weight myself. I have done this by 1) I no longer drink any sodas. If you are a big soda drinker you will probably lose 10lb by just stopping that. Soda is just sugar and caffeine, both no good. 2) I eat mostly at home, planned meals, but if I go out, I half my food immediately after they sit it down in front of me. Americans serve about 3X as much food in 1 sitting !! . 3) I bought an eliptical machine from walmart for less than $100 bucks and I jump on that everyday for about 20-30 minutes, I put it in front of the TV so I can watch my favorite shows and 4) I make it enjoyable, I don't want to make it work. If I enjoy exercising and eating right, I know I will continue to do it for a life time. I don't completely deprive myself of things I like (like chocolate) because then I might brake down and eat 5 lbs one day when I'm feeling bad. I will reward myself every once in a while with some sweets, all in moderation. I was actually shocked how much I lost by just changing the way I thought about food. I hope you reach your goal, good luck (and don't go hungry, eat a lot of vegtables and fruits, and whole grains)

1. Best way to lose weight:
a) Eat QUALITY calories. Read up on the Glycemic Index and implement more of what you learn from it. It's a way of getting the most from what you do eat, and having it keep you full longer.
b) Move your body more. Little bits really can and do add up. Tak 1-2 floors worth of stairs in lieu of elevators/escalators. Park at the far corners of parking lots and walk that extra bit. Take things up/down stairs when you encountr them instead of waiting to take a whole armload or basket up. Walk a dog. Take your or the neighbours kids for a walk to the park or in the woods. It doesn't matter what - just MOVE MORE.
c) Strengthen and tone your muscles. Stronger muscles burn more calories, even when you're resting.
2. Three pounds a week is do-able, but less likely to be sustainable, than if you lose 2 pounds a week. 2 pounds a week is the rate of weight loss that has been proven to stay off the best after you lose the weight. (I've tried it, and I've tried losing more than that before, and they're right! Last time I did that, and it's stayed off for a year. The other times I lost it a bit faster, and every pound came back, and many of them brought extra friends with them!)
3. Forget about the minutiae of target measurement numbers and sizes. It's not only crazy-making, it gives you fodder to beat yourself up over if you don't attain a precise number or size. Let your mirror be your guide.
4. And most importantly, acknowlege your successes, be patient with yourself, expect hiccoughs (hiccups) along the way, and keep your chin up with a smile.

Don't listen to diet fads, eat what you want, in moderation, every 2-3 hours. Remember, the foods you eat define your insides. Avoid caffeine, avoid pre-packaged food, including food from fast-food chains. Don't eat before you go to bed. You must eat like this FOREVER.
Exercise daily, vary your type. I love Pilate's videos, but I get in a good jog weekly, I walk every day. Don't discount an hour of tennis, swimming at the beach, riding a bike, lifting weights, playing hopscotch with your kids, dancing and climbing stairs. As long as you've moved enough to constitute exercise, you're good.
For a jump start, get cardio everyday, until you feel satisfied with your shape. If you're naturally curvy, you won't lose your curves. If you're carrying DD's because of your weight, then they're going to shrink. But, a C cup, or even a B will look just as proportionate on a smaller body. Losing enough weight to be 128 by V-Day is unrealistic, healthily, and very few 128lb. people have large breasts.
It's really all about moving more, sleeping more, drinking more water, and actually choosing what's going in to your body. You have to get it all in line.
If you lost 47 pounds, and gained it back, you should be able to determine why you stopped doing what was working.

Throw out all your butter and cheese and simple carbohydrates like white flour and sugar. Don't drink cokes or pepsis or anything with sugar in it. Eat grapefruit, it cleans you out and does not add any weight. Walk a few miles every day, build up to it if you can't walk a lot right now, or take up some sport and do it--an active sport, not playing cards or golf (unless you walk the course--not riding in a cart), tennis or badminton or basketball are good. Running is good with the right shoes and never run downhill, walk downhill, build up slowly. Weight training is good, too, muscles automatically burn up calories. Swimming is great, biking is good but be careful and wear a helmet. Try to eat a lot of salads and remember, no oily dressings at all, ever. 3 lbs. a week is possible, but you will hit plateaus where nothing happens, then lose a lot quickly. Stick to it, you can do it!

A week ago you said in another question you were going to run 20 miles a day, do ab exercises, plus cut 500 calories out of your daily diet. Did you stick with it? If so, you should be seeing pounds literally shed off. If not, you need to set realistic goals, then STICK with them.
I recommend you try this routine. But don't move on to the next step until you complete the previous one.
1. 2 wks: 3 days cardio @ 20 mins + 40min regular exercise = 1hr
2. 2 wks: 3 days cardio @ 30 mins + 30min regular exercise = 1hr.
3. 4 wks: 3 days cardio @ 40mins + 20min regular exercise = 1hr.
4. 4 wks: 5 days cardio @ 40mins + 20min regular exercise = 1hr.
The cardio must be heartpumping (treadmills, steppers, etc) and the exercise should work muscles like abs, hips, etc. This is in addition to maintaining a healthy diet. I recommend joining a gym and seeing a personal trainer if you need motivation or help sticking with your routine. Come back at the end of the 12 weeks and tell us how you did.

Eat leaner foods, watch your portion sizes... cut down on sugary drinks, exercise more... just don't give up... allow yourself to have special treats. If you are at a bday party, let yourself have a small piece of cake... you've got to be able to indulge if you want to be successful. Don't starve yourself... find a fruit or veggie that you can bring along as a snack... also drink water! Good luck!
