What does it mean to complete an offer?

I have seen ads for free stuff. Free Laptop - subject to conditions: Must refer 10 friends, must complete one offer.
Does this mean you have to refer 10 friends and buy something from this company?
Sorry to be so naive.

You have to stick to the terms of the freebie. In some instances you have to purchase something from 3 of their listed advertisers.
Sometimes it's a free something for committing to a specific time period for services from that company.
Like cell phone co offers free phones. With a two year commitment to a min service.

Forget it. If it sounds too good to be true its most likely a scam.
