I would not dare to use baking yeast like "Bakers" to make wine. There is more chance that you loose everything. I think it would not work. It's the same as if you would like to do yogurt... you would have to use a different kind of yeast... not the Bakers one ^^

Bakers' yeast is for baking; wine yeast is for wine-making; brewers' yeast is for beer-making. You will get some kind of drink, of course, but it will probably be weak, taste of bread and have a huge sediment. It's horses for courses - you'd not use a racehorse to pull a cart not a carthorse to run the Derby. Get the proper yeast - it's cheap and easily obtained online (there are no age restrictions applicable to buying yeast - it's not alcohol).

I called yeast "magic fairy dust" earlier because it is what turns grape juice into wine. Without yeast, there would BE NO wine/beer/vodka/tequila/rum/whatever. So the next time you take a sip of alcohol, give thanks to the Big Guy for creating it.
But what is yeast? Specifically, yeast is a fungus that exists everywhere around us. That's right: Fungus. There are many different strains of yeast, but the ones we will be using all have one thing in common: they eat sugar and water and excrete alcohol. Yes, you read that correctly - alcohol is basically fungus piss. Think about THAT the next time you see some attractive member of the opposite sex downing a shot at a bar!

It will ferment, but I would not take the chance of losing all your ingredients. I know it took me a while to pick enough black berries for a batch of wine. It was a lot of work. You can purchase wine making yeast. Its the best way. Go to WWW.LEENERS.COM for wine making stuff. Good luck.

yea bakers yeast can be used because the must ie. actually the grape juice needs cultured or natural yeast to introduce alcoholic content , but the alcoholic content might be low in comparison to your other yeast & could take some more time for fermentation

It will yield a very inferior product--it does not settle out, and the flavors will be off. Use wine yeast for wine and brewer's yeast for beer.
