If Jesus returned today with no fanfare and picked up were he left off healing people and teaching religion, telling everyone he was Gods son do you think that anyone including the catholic church would believe that it was really him or do you think we would have another crucifixion scenreio on our hands. (Not a real crucifixion but one by the media)? I know atheist dont believe but i would like your input anyway. (As long as its not vulgar).

First i would like to say I Am sorry if i offended any atheists it was not my intention. (Bad wording on my part!). Secondly you all make good points and it is exactly the responses(Sadly enough) i thought i would recieve. Unfortunately It doesnt seem that his situation would be much different than the first time. Seems we all have the same views now as then. Nothing has changed except time and technology. I wish you all peace and thanks for answering.

First of all, not all Atheists are vulgar so apologize to those you offended by that statement.
If Christ returned as you stated, I think that the Christian faith would consider Him satanic. It would be akin to magic which they frown on and that it must be evil because no one is allowed to do that past the time of Christ. Yes, the press would mock and ridicule and He would probably be assassinated.

Solely on economic reasons I'd have to say, "no." It is not in the best interest of the Catholic Church or any other Christian sect to have Jesus return. As long as there is the threat that his return will usher in the opening of the Book of Life and Judgment Day, the masses will continue to dutifully go to church and place their after tax dollars into the collection plate in the hopes that it will buy them a ticket to heaven.

Oddly enough, I think the agnostics and atheists would be the first to recognize the real Jesus given what he would be able to do. If this Jesus returned could in fact raise the dead, heal the sick, and feed the multitudes, I'm certain, given their inquiring minds and analytical abilities, that they would be the first to announce his true identity. The Catholic Church and the multiple Christian sects, on the other hand, would be more inclined to paint him with the Anti Christ brush due to his obvious power and the potential economic losses they would face. Contrary to what often appears in R & S, it would be the Christians who would demand "proof" of his claims.

He'd probably get a spot on the God channel.

BUT JESUS WILL NOT RETURN LIKE THIS!

Mark 13:26
24 But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light,

25 the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.

26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

HE WILL COME TO RECIEVE THE SAVED TO BE WITH HIM IN HEAVEN, AND THE JUDGE THE UNSAVED TO SEND THEM TO HELL.

BE SAVED TODAY

I would NOT believe because of what the Bible says about the second coming of Christ.

Matthew 26:64
Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter Shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Did David Ike not attempt this in the 80's? He was crucified by the media but then they did have good cause. He was as much of a healer as a pair of 9" stillettos........

There was an interesting book called Joshua that dealt with that very question. It was also made into a movie ,but the book was much better.I think He would only be accepted by some , people have not changed that much.

There would be some who would believe but there would be those who would be cynical and skeptical because all have been warned about the false prophet. there would be media coverage and a trial possibly similar to the one in the movie " Miracle on 34th Street ".

we live in a non trusting world.
Unless people could see his powers they most likely wouldnt beleive him.
If they saw him healing people he would have tons of followers and tons of haters as well trying to prove him wrong.
As I well know once you are in the public eye you get a mixed bag of people those who beleive in you and those who are not happy until they have trashed you. I feel it would be saddly the same for him.

Good question! You may see Him with your own eyes, 'cos He's coming soon! He's not gonna come back where He left off, He's gonna judge the world!
