I'm just looking for a last minute, cheap booking, somewhere hot, where I'm not gonna get stung for being single, nor am I wanting to go on one of those singles hols coz I ain't looking and they are mega expensive too from where I have looked.

Easy answer. Join a site called Global Freeloaders. I've been a member for years and stayed all over the world with different people for free.It gives you access to people all over the world who will offer anything from a mattress on the floor to a spare bedroom and everything in between. My kids have used the site as well and we used it to get some free accommodation this November.You meet some fantastic people and have some great people. Just have a look at the site it can't do you any harm and might really help you out. It was started by a young Aussi woman who wanted a cheap way to travel.

its just another way of these travel companies and hotels of ripping you off without giving an explanation why!! I am lucky I have a hotel in Spain that i stop at regularly and its a grand hotel with views over Poniente and Levante which do not charge extra for single occupancy but I'm ripped of by the insurance because of age i have to pay double and extra again because I had major heart surgery so its a no win situation you pay or you don't travel

It depends on where you want to go and how old you are. Some countries have youth hostels which somewhat cheap but usually have a common or share bathroom.
You can also try three star hotels. In some countries 3 stars are really good. In france the IBIS 2 star hotel was really good.

Why not stay in a youth hostel in a shared room. Its very cheap and you might make some friends along the way. Go to hostelworld.com to search worldwide locations, with reviews, availability and quotes included.

You could always head to Oz or America and stay in hostels, try going on a hostel website, they're cool places to meet other single peeps and the don't charge Stupid prices (depending where you stop!)

book a airfare-only trip and stay in hostels or B&Bs. Paying for an expensive hotel room is the best way to not meet people and waste hard-earned cash instead of spending it on more interesting things.

Get yourself down to the docks & meet a long distance lorry driver there are some good ones around or Hitchike,or buy a cheap one way ticket to Spain & hitch back?
