it is a difficult question.
on the one hand, the child is a sinner: -
Psalm 51
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
NIV

however, there is this passage (when David's young son had died): -
22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?

23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

David would go to Heaven when he died. he says he would go to his son. does this mean that the child went to heaven?

sorry if i haven't given a conclusive answer, but hopefully i've given u something to think about.

ps infant baptism/christening does nothing, it is not scriptural.

How has this baby had a chance to sin...The baby came straight from heaven, Why would god send it to hell.
I don`t think that verse was speaking about babies.
We are all sinners, not a man alive on this earth that's not a sinner,
Have a blessed day in the holy spirit!!

persons who die without baptism cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. A person who dies without having committed serious sin and yet is unbaptised goes to a place like paradise, but they never see God. They are happy, but not as happy as person in Heaven. Now, no one knows for certain how long after death a soul seperates from the body and so it is possible to give the dead baby baptism and it may have the opportunity of going to Heaven. This is why the Catholic church believes in infant baptism. A baby never goes to hell unless it has been consecrated to lucifer before birth.

You may be born into sin, however, you are not accountable for those sins until you can know the difference between right and wrong, which is usually around the age of eight years old. So, to answer your question, if a baby is born but dies immediately, it returns to heaven from which it came, because it cannot be held accountable for its sinful nature since it doesn't know the difference between right and wrong.

I've found nothing supporting either viewpoint. Theologians have debated this question for years. If you hold the theory that "no man comes to the father but through me," then the baby would go to hell. However, most people find this idea disturbing, and believe that God would make an exception... this brings some interesting questions of its own though. Who else does God make exceptions for? The mentally handicapped? Remote peoples who die without ever hearing the Gospel?

This is a reallly deep question. And, the answer is that there is no heaven or hell, and this situation is the perfect example as to why not. The baby died because there was something medically wrong with it. The baby will be buried in the ground and then return to the earth and leave a world of pain for the parents that no God could ever answer for. Sorry.

Babies and small children don't go to hell unless they are of a certain age. I believe this is called the age of understanding. Its when a human being at a certain age understands the difference between Good and evil, right and wrong and chooses to act on one or the other independently of any out side force.

It goes to Heaven. Yes, we are all born into sin. But, we have to reach an age of accountability before we are held responsible for our sins. (The age is different for different people- it's basically when you realize that you do things that are wrong). The baby has no conception of wrong or right, so it goes to Heaven. Remember, "Jesus said 'Let the little ones come to me.' "
