...cashiews and pastachios,to be exact. Also chocolate. In reality , anything that I eat..he knows it's safe to eat . When I prepare his food he will come to me and smell my beath to see if thats what I am having. He's only 4 years old but understands both English ans spanish and will play until I am exhausted. He walks around with more confidence than John Wayne and has more charisma than Elvis Presley. His heart is as big as Texas and has nothing but love for anybody he meets but is it bad (health wise) for a boy in a D.O.G. costume to eat nuts and chocolate ? He's actually a Rottweiler-Shepard mix and has eaten these things as well as pizza, fruit...etc,all his life. People have said that dogs can't digest nuts and onions but he does just fine. I've heard that chocolate will kill a dog(after the fact) but Frank never even played dead. So if there is any real evidence,,I'd like to hear it before I head to the kitchen. He says he wants Rocky Road ???????????

Frank T Wonderdog sounds fabulous! His diet is probably not the healthiest, but he should be fine as long as he's getting loads of exercise to burn off all that pizza. As far as the chocolate - I looked into this last year b/c my dog got into the M&Ms. Turns out they have to eat nearly their body weight in chocolate in order for it to be lethal. And while no chocolate is healthy for dogs, small amounts of dark chocolate aren't as bad as regular milk chocolate. And they actually make some fancy chocolate candies specifically for the D.O.G.'s.

I know you want to feed your dog anything and everything because you love him (which sounds like you do). I would highly recommend that you hold off on the love tho. These items may not seem to hurt him now but in time you may see kidney issues, diabetes, liver issues, and more serious even death. Try not to feed your pup anything but a high quality diet. Dogs in the wild have eaten nuts for centuries, chocolate;as you know is not good for anything or anybody to hear the experts talk. My small house dog managed to find a whole bag of chocolate while I was away at town. She ate the whole bag. She did get sick, but did not die.
