I can tell you from experience that it cost more than a cap. I had the same thing happen and well I should have just paid the $700 for the cap because now bridge work is going to cost me more! There are some dentist that offer an interest free payment plan. You put a percentage down and then you just make payments for the work you have done. That may help you out! Good luck!

Is the broken off part in one piece? I did this with one of mine: have someone help you superglue it back in place. It worked for me, but be very careful with super glue, you know how adhesive it is!

my son did the same thing, and the dentist filled it. it was very inexpensive and his tooth looks perfect. it cost 146.00 dollars, my insurance covered all but 59.00. ask your dentist about filling it.
