I just made them the other day with Mini M&M's in them, but the best way is to add PEANUT BUTTER, the recipe I have doesn't even take marshmallows!
Use 3/4 cup light corn syrup (I've used waffle syrup, it works) & 1/2 cup sugar, heat to boiling in a heavy saucepan. Remove from heat and immediately stir in 3/4 cup peanut butter. Pour over 6 cups cereal in large bowl, stir until coated well. You can then add 1 cup raisins, or any other add-ins you like. Press your mixture into an UNGREASED 13 x 9 inch pan, using the back of a buttered spoon. Cool, then cut into squares as usual.
I got this recipe off the back of "Triples" cereal, I don't think they even make that kind anymore. My guess is that you could use your regular marshmallow recipe and stir in the peanut butter after melting the 'mallows, also.

use chocolate chips or more marshmallows. I made rice cripsy on friday and they were good without nothing. But for a different taste use chocolate chips or buy fruity pebbles or coco pebbles for a different taste

I like to add chocolate chips and chopped up peanuts to mine.
Also, with the holidays I like to add food coloring to make them festive and use cookie cutters to cut them into shapes like pumpkins, etc.
