Your puppy is just a baby. Every year of a human's life is considered to be the equivalent of 7 years for a dog. So at 2 months, your puppy is still just over 1 year old in human terms.

I don't know any babies of just 1 year who have any sort of bladder control and this would be the same for your puppy. You'll notice that soon after your puppy drinks it will pee. This is perfectly normal for your dog.

You can even try training the dog right away: everytime you give the dog water, take him/her outside right away, wait for the pee, then praise the puppy like crazy!! He/she will soon get to learn that peeing is best done outside - though don't expect miracles, remember your dealing with the equivilant of a 1 year old child. Give it a few more months.

Have fun

I think I know what you're talking about. But I don't have an answer. I have a dog and she's a little over a year old and still pees when she's nervous or excited. She does do it a lot less now, so just give it time.

If he is peeing all over and you want him house trained you will need to cage train him. Important that the cage be small enough to restrict his movement. Get one he can grow into with a movable partition, when he gets bigger you will be able to open it up for him. IMPORTANT>>>> each and every time you let him out of the cage you must take him out and tell him to go! Reinforce the correct behavior. No food in cage to start only water if in for long stay. Your dog will soon go to the cage on his own, as a security area. Good luck, let me know if you need more info.

is your puppy potty trained yet? we have a 2 month old basset hound who eats 4 times a day and guaranteed to go 45 min after . you add water into the equation and she is always going. there bladders aren't fully grown and also they don't have control over them. use piddle pads and at the first sing that he/she is going to go to the bath room run him/her to the designated potty spot.
