I have a very good credit score and would like to apply for a student loan, but all the companies don't accept an international student without a cosigner. If I apply using my SSN pretrending being a citizen how the lender will find out I am not a citizen?

When they contact the university will they find out I am not a resident and cancel my application?

did you check with the financial aid office of the school you will be attending. maybe the could offer you alternatives in terms of grants, scholarships, etc that the school offers. i'm not sure about loan's for non-residents, but the financial aid counselor would know about alternatives for you.

I'm assuming they gave you an SSN as you are a legal student here in the US. I would also assume that anyone looking that number up would see it notated with your details as a non-US citizen. It is a bad idea to do this. When you apply for a student loan, you are actually applying for a loan involving the federal government of the USA and fraud has serious repercussions, the least of which might be the retraction of your student visa and deportation.

if you use a fake ssn, you will be arrested if you are caught, don't do that. If you want a student loan and your not a us citizen, you will get the loan guaranteed if you come here to Calfornia. They give everyone, i.e., illegals free money everyday.

Sallie Mae International offers student loans to international students. There are private student loans available that reward good credit scores, so you may want to apply for one of those. http://www.salliemae.com/international.

Good luck!
