For toe nail damage what are the precautions to be taken to avoid infection?

I have oozing of white foul smeeling liquid from the wound,will it be infectious if its open .do u suggest me to cover with a bandage and do i have to take antibiotics like erythromycin?

Harry sounds like your nail is already infected, and that white stuff oming out is likely pus. You better get to a podiatrist and get yourself on some antibiotics. You have to get that cleaned. up. Hope you feel better soon.

Also, in the interim, I would do a foot soak in Peroxide and warm water. Then get to a doctor asap.
