You could go from NY Penn Station to Trenton, NJ on NJ Transit's North East Corridor line.

Trenton, NJ to Philly's 30th Street Station in SEPTA's R7 line Change there for SEPTA's R2 line to Newark, DE.

But you have a 21 Mile gap from Newark, DE before you can get on the MARC Train Perryville, MD on the Penn Line.

If you hate Amtrak that much, take the Bus !

Nope. But you could take a bus, airplane, or rent a car. Amtrak has excellent service, and puts you out int the heart of Manhattan. It's not expensive, and there are lots of trains. It's safe, and smooth, and you don't have those security problems as you would at an airport.
