The church I attend is having a revival with Dr. Nassir Saddiki as the guest speaker. His view of the Bible is you must pay offerings, or a down payment in order for God to answer your prayer. I do not beleive this. I beleive God answers our prayers because He loves us. Give me you veiw of this.

The Holy Spirit: Gift Giver
1 Corinthians 12:1-31
Look into any church, and you will find a few apathetic believers. Their faith may be real, but it is inactive. Some of these people have simply decided that they lack the right skills to live daily for Christ. But a believer’s limitations are no excuse for ignoring God’s call to personal ministry—human strength and talent are inadequate for serving the Lord. That is why the Holy Spirit gives each believer a spiritual gift at salvation.
Knowing exactly what a believer’s future holds, the Spirit can bestow on him or her the capacity to carry out God-given work. We can’t choose for ourselves what our gift will be; we are gifted in accordance with the calling placed on our life. The Lord also takes into account our inherent talents and personality so that our effectiveness is maximized.
Some Christians regard certain gifts as proof of genuine faith. For example, a number of churches view speaking in tongues as a prerequisite for serving the Lord. However, according to Scripture, the only “gift” common to all believers is the Holy Spirit Himself. This shows that spiritual gifts are distributed among the body of Christ, with no single manifestation being given to every believer (vv. 29-30).
The Holy Spirit makes certain that we have the right tools to serve according to our calling. It is time to shake off any apathy or expectations of others that keep us glued to the pew. Start looking for a place to serve, whether in your church, community, or at work, and you will soon discover how the Holy Spirit has gifted you.

I have never heard of Dr Nassir Saddiki. I checked out his website and he definately has a financial background. If you don't agree, don't go to the revival.
Tell you pastor that you have issues with Dr Saddiki and will not attend.
There is a certain female Christian minister out there that I will not support, because of her beliefs on money.

(tithe is NOT a downpayment on your home in heaven, or answered prayer - Christ already paid for it)

God answers prayers in his own time . The church functions from it's memebers that tithe .We as Christains need to help the church reach out to non believers ie..through donations, time money ,clothes , food etc.BUT God will not answer a prayer because you don't give ,at least that is what I think .

I agree with you totally. What about grace? The book of Romans chapter 3 addresses our shortcomings and the gift of salvation. Notice the key points in the verses below. No one on their own will be declaried righteous (even those who try to earn it), righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus (not works), and we are justified freely by the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross. It sounds to me like Dr. Nassir is encouraging you to pay for something that you have already been given. God blesses his believers because of Jesus. We are sinful and undeserving of his blessing, but the blood of Jesus blots our of sin and enables us to be blessed by God.

20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.

22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

I'm proud of you for questioning something that doesn't feel Biblicially correct, even though the church is pushing it. I had to leave my home church after 3 years because they were taking Bible text out of context and manipulating the word. Be strong and pray about it. God will let you know where to go from here.

Too many worldly views would say that the church is out to steal your money. Unfortuantely, there have been churches who have done just this and have given the rest of the church a bad name. in Malachi 3:8-12 says: 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. {pour...: Heb. empty out}
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.

This in no way means that if you want prayers answered, that you have to pay. God is not a slot machine. What it does mean is that through your tithe, you come in convenant with God. (a binding deal)

God has commanded his children to give back a tithe (10% of their gross income) to the storehouse (your church). If your church is in alignment with the word, your tithe is used to furhter the ministry of God outside the four walls of the church, not to fattent the preachers pocket. If your tithe is not furthering the kindom, you need to find a new church. in verse 10, the only place in the Bible where call says to test/prove Him, He tells us that He is not trying to take from us but wants to Open the Windows of Heaven for you.

Money is was we all hold dearest. This is why God focuses so much on it. It is one of his biggest rivals. He wants us to PROVE that we are not putting our money before Him. How else can you prove it without giving it up. When you do this, He will do for you.

I hear people say that they cant afford to tithe - My friend, you cant afford not to tithe. Since i started tithing, my annual income has increased nearly five times what it was before i started tithing. God is Faithful. Test him in this area and see for yourself.

look at it this way, Why on earth would God want you to be broke? He wants you to have an abundance if you are faithful in the tithe. if you make 30K/year, your tithe is 3K. If God can in crease you to 60K, God would then get 6K to the mission. He want you to have increase.

OK, here is the deal,
you give God a tenth of your paycheck, that gets all your prayers answered, obedience,
offerings, go to missions, or places that give food, and clothing to fatherless children widow, and such as the kingdom of God,

He is what the Bible calls a hireling,
he is in it for the money, don't you dare,,, it comes with a curse.

Pray for him, and tell your pastor, this person is not doing according to the word of God.

What "church" do you attend? Certainly not the one I read of in the Bible.Dr. Saddiki sounds like another scam artist using religion to scare folks and extort money out of them. The Catholic church tried this before. It was called "penance".Other so called religions have gone this route. It is not the way of Jesus.

NO!!!! you do NOT have to pay for God's gifts or answers for your prayers.
His love, and any other gifts or talents He gives, are given with love.
He also answers our prayers - or not - as He sees fit, and the only thing He wants from us for this, is faith and sincerity, and trust.............

Be very wary of anyone who preaches as this speaker does, the world is full of false prophets.......

By the way please don't confuse offerings, given freely and voluntarily, to support God's work in the world, with this demand to pay for God's love.........

The same as you do not have to do penance to pay for your sins, Jesus paid for them on the cross, and by "doing" penance, you are dishonouring and belittling his sacrifice, its like saying, well sorry Jesus, but your sacrifice just wasn't enough......

God does not require payment. He does ask us to tithe (give 10% of our first fruits - money, time, etc. back to Him) but only willingly. Find yourself a church that teaches scripture alone, grace alone and faith alone. You are being lied to by false teachers; Jesus told us they'd be everywhere and to watch out for them. God bless you. ~Nise~

yes - and Jim Baker paid for sex... and he was supossed to be tight with God - so it seems to me that he has become a capitalist and also a politician - so at the very least he probably asks for a bribe.
