The best tip I can give is, keep it moist. Don't use you're usual lipstick or balm, cause you'll just re infect yourself. Get a cold sore ointment, and also use Vaseline, to keep it moist. It will be less obvious than if it's dry and flaky. And don't touch it otherwise, and wash you're hands before and after use.
I know it feels like an eternity, but trust me, buy next week Friday it will be gone.

Cold sore s a type of simple complex herps that could lie dormaint in you blood stream that my be the reason why it contiues to come back.Simple Complex is the type that not a std its much more like a common cold that can't get out the body that will just show up as a sore instesd of you being sick with the coughing. so go see a doctor so that he can give yo some pills that will work on the inside out. Put a warm towel on it my busrt but don't try to burst it let it burst on its own and don't touch it with dirty fingers and try some carmex or camphor.

I've gotten those before and I use Abreva. Last time I had it, I was also very sick so when I went to the doctor she gave me medicine for my cold sore as well. It helped A LOT! You should try talking to your doctor. I still have my perscription for emergencies! I think they're called Acyclovir Tablets. Check them out!

Cold sore treatment options vary widely. There is prescription medication, over-the-counter medication, and home remedies for cold sores - many of which work remarkably well.
Here are some links to a site that helped me with my own cold sore problems. Since I used some of the methods outlined here, I haven't had a problem.
Outlines a bunch of cold sore remedies that work, both medicinal and home treatments:

Entire glossary listing all of the best cold sore treatments compiled on to one web page:

That site is updated pretty regularly. Every time I go back there seems to be something new. Hope this helps!

Coldsores are caused by the Herpes virus, bad news is once you have them, the virus is incurable and will saty with you for life, they will come back from time to time. Good news is they aren't fundamentally very serious though can spread to certain 'other areas' but maybe you should look up herpes on yahoo and read more about that there.
