There are things you can take to ease the discomfort, but these things will only be a temporary fix. You can rinse with warm salt water, but it really has no affect. Topical numbing will only work for a short period of time. You can take ibuprofen (motrin) which will help relieve the swelling & pain. There really is no quick fix, you need to see a dentist and have him/her assess the situation and get on some antibiotics. Good luck!

nothing over the counter will get rid of an absessed tooth. You need some antibiotics and either have the tooth extracted (pulled) or have a root canal done. Extractions are cheaper, faster, and a little less painful. Contact your local clinics, some places will go by your income and perform the procedure at a low price. You need to get this done asap! Good Luck!

Call a dentist asap and in the meantime rinse with lukewarm salt water, place a warm tea bag on the tooth that is bothering you to cleanse and draw the infection out. You need to see a dentist asap and take an antibiotic! An abased tooth can cause fatality, the poison can actually travel to your heart.

abscesses are caused by a bacterial infection due to germs getting beneath the gumline-the only way to treat these is with antibiotics. if you cannot afford to see a dentist, check with your state's department of health on where there are free clinics in your area so you can get the medication you need.
you can also go to any emergency room if you are in severe pain-they are not allowed to refuse you service due to no insurance or lack of ability to pay-they have to treat you and can also give you information about getting signed up for free healthcare through the state which every state has available-it's a federal law.
abscesses can cause severe problems if untreated-the infection can get into your bloodstream and spread to other areas in your body.
until you can be seen-rinse your mouth out with salt water after eating anything ( 2 tsp of salt to 8 oz water) and make sure to floss and brush after each meal.
take ibuprofen for the pain. 200-400mg every 6 hours but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours.
i hope you feel better soon

Put some cloves on it with a cotton bud.
The cloves will numb the pain, but, you need to see a dentist or doctor, because the fact that you have an ulcer in your mouth, you could become very sick, and the pain will definitely come back with a vengeance. You need an antibiotic to knock out the infection.

The only way I know to get an abscessed tooth to stop hurting is have it pulled out. It always worked for me. I don't know of any other good way to get it to stop hurting or at least to where its bearable for very long. The best thing to do if it's bad is get rid of it. Then it won't give you no more trouble.

Try to find a dentist that will make payments over time. Or go to a teaching hospital that teaches dentistry, they are usually very cheap

Use numbing gel on the spot that hurts. That is what I did when I got my tooth pulled.

There isn't a home remedy - you need antibiotics and dental treatment.
