Britian has officially been declared the 'fattest' nation in Europe. Where does the responsibility lie to sort this out, with the individual or with the government?

Equal responsibility in my opinion.

We have to stop eating such unhealthy foods. Fast food restaurants are lethal. We keep going to them so in that respect it's our fault, however there should be a governmental limit on the number of fast food outlets. They are exploiting us.
Even when we should eat healthier we can't. It's more satisfying to eat junk so that's partly our fault, however all of the fruit and veg. is flown half way around the world to get to us. Straight away the nutritional value has plummeted. Then everything is sprayed with chemicals to prolong shelf life. These chemicals certainly aren't helping

An individual has definitely his own responsibilities towards society so society is electing a government. That responsibility starts from everything.

Well, you have to be an idiot not to know about healthy eating these days. I don't think the gov need spend any more money on telling us how to eat well. So it down to the larger people to realise they are killing themselves and sort out their lives. I heard that in some areas the NHS will pay for you to go to slimming club, this can only be a good idea.

It's our own responsibility. Why should we wait for the government to tell us what to do? Can't we think for ourselves?
