2007 Dodge Charger and Magnum: Highlights

All-wheel-drive Charger models join Dodge's large-car lineup for 2007. The Charger sedan and Magnum wagon share a basic design with the Chrysler 300 sedan. Chargers and Magnums seat five and offer V6 and V8 engines. SE models have a 190-hp V6. SXT versions have a 250-hp V6. R/Ts have Chrysler's 340-hp Hemi V8, and high-performance SRT8s have a 425-hp Hemi V8. The 340-hp V8 uses Chrysler's Multi-Displacement System that deactivates four cylinders while cruising to save fuel. All Magnums and Chargers have an automatic transmission: a 4-speed on SEs, a 5-speed on the others. Rear-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive is available on SXT and R/T versions; Charger previously was rear-drive only.
ABS and traction/antiskid control are optional on SEs, standard on others. Curtain side airbags are available on all. AWD SXT, R/T, and SRT8 models have firmer suspension tuning. SRT8s add Brembo-brand brakes and specific trim. Split folding rear seatbacks are standard. Available are adjustable pedals and wireless cell phone link. The Road/Track Performance Group option gives R/T versions 350 hp and adds 20-inch wheels and special suspension tuning; a Charger Daytona R/T Package adds throatier exhaust tuning and unique trim.

2007 Dodge Charger SRT 8 Super Bee
with the SRT 8 and its asphalt cracklin’ 6.1-liter, 425-horsepower Hemi engine. Colors and enhancements include "Detonator Yellow" exterior color, with black hood and deck-lid face, Super Bee logos on front and rear fenders, and contrasting yellow stitching on the seats, steering wheel and shift knob.

If you don’t know about the Super Bee, consider that the nameplate made its debut in 1968 within the Dodge Coronet line at a sticker price of just over $3,000. It was offered as a Dodge Charger 1971, and restored examples fetch between $80,000 – $100,000 today.

You can buy a new one this fall for a lot less than a classic but, sadly, considerably more than that original $3,000 price tag. Actually pricing will be announced closer to launch.
