I am an Anabaptist Christian. I do cover my head like the bible tells us to in 1 Cor 11. I dont only do it for church because it says to do it when we pray and the bible says to pray without ceasing.

many religions still have head coverings of one sort or another, hats, wigs, scarfs, prayer caps. i grew up in a religion where womans heads were covered with prayer caps. my religion now has "progressed" with time and they are no longer part of our daily life, but to answer your question , no but i do pull it back into a braided bun so that my "crown of glory " is not ever cut, styled or free for the world to see. my girls are raised the same way, hair in two (behind the back) braids and when they hit puberty the braids become one and in a bun.

I know it was required of Catholic woman in the past but I believe it is a personal option now.
I am a male & do not cover my head during prayer.

No, I've never really thought to do that. Do you feel it makes a difference, spiritually speaking? I mean no disrespect, just wondering if you feel closer to God when you do, or do you feel that it is a sign of respect?
UPDATE: Ok, so I've just read the other answers, and I had no idea women other than Muslims did this. This is a great question, and just proves my point that you can learn something new every day. Thanks!

Believe it or not many Christian women DO cover their heads when they go to Chruch. Christian women don't wear veils and go overboard but they do where hats for head coverings.

no, i've never covered my head for prayer, but i do bow my head in deep appreciation and either clasp my hands together or raise my arms in praise to the glory of God, and i have known many women that used to cover their head in prayer, but most churces i have visited do not. i am christian in the apostolic church, and have seen the ones we refer to as " mothers" cover their heads when i was young, but not any more.

Covering the head is symbolic for submission - submission can be shown without literally covering your head, though I don't thing actually wearing a covering is a bad thing. Whatever helps you be closer to God... God bless you. ~Nise~

sense other men answered, I get too also :)P
It really doesn't matter. You said. It's personal choice.
A person can do just about anything they feel like doing, too feel a closeness too God. As long as it does NOT become a "ritual", where you have to do it, or it doesn't work.
When this happens, it what? Just became "Bondage".

Women cover their heads every time they pray, when they stick their heads in the sand of delusional superstitionism (religion).
