It shouldn't. They may be worried that you'll marry her or another black girl. Such a tragedy! Mixed race kids are great, and are often a bridge between the two societies. Someone below talks about the problems mixed race couples have. I'd rather have society sneer a little and have a great relationship or marriage than have the reverse. Social dispproval can even draw people closer together; it's all in how you handle it.

Because some people are so miserable in their own solid black , white, yellow or whatever same color people world in which they live in I believe not only is bigotry a BIG problem but also jealousy. They've probably always wanted to ex perience a diverse and interesting life, but didn't have enough gonads to do it. So I'm sure some of them are taking their feelings of jealousy over your happiness and embracing life out on you and your great relationship. These a**holes are not your friends. Go with what is in you and your girlfriend's hearts: Love and making your own lives a great thing together, the people you speak of love their own hatred way more than they love you. I hope now the choice will be obvious. Stay away from ignorant people like that and try to stand up for yourself and your girlfriend. Good luck to you both!!!!!

There's nothing wrong to love someone who has different race.I've seen and observed people who's marriage were more successful as compared to others of the same race. I Have friends actually who are very happy with their married life now,and guess what? They are married to different Nationalities or races for that matter. You just have to be very keen and prayerful though,in other words you have to trust GOD when it comes to these issues.Remember, you're dealing matters of the heart here. You need to be very vigilant. You need to act like a lamb but think like a serpent. You know what i mean. So,it doesn't really matter if you have a gf or bf of different race as long as you have the right chemistry for LOVE.It's not against God's law.He loves us all, whatever race or color we may have.

This goes to show that prejudice is alive and well. Whoever told you it was wrong to love someone of another race is a racist, I don't mean to rag your family, but it is your life, not theirs, love whomever you want. That is the problem with a lot of families, they don't let the younger generation live, they want them to live the way they did, back when. It is such an enlightenment to see someone for who they are and not their color, religion, etc. You keep doing you, I am sure you will be okay. God Bless.

There's nothing wrong with it. I do agree though that it is far more easier (for you and your family) to be with someone from your own background. I had a Chinese boyfriend before and it was difficult to get along with the family because of language and cultural differences. But you could always meet halfway.

It is not wrong for you to love someone of a different race! Your family and friends are wrong. I am white and I have a daughter whose father is Hispanic and I have nieces and nephews whose fathers and mothers are Black. Needless to say, my daughter and all of her cousins are beautiful mixed children. If you love her, go for it!

it's not wrong to love someone of a different race. if you really love the person, it won't matter his/her background. your friends and family might not yet understand your feelings with a person of other race so it's upto you of how you'll make them understand. fight for the person you love.

Your right its shuldn't matter but some times people with suck up others lives just to avoid the things they dont like about them selfs... either there just giving you a hard time or there closed minded... either way at the end of the day when you have your arms wrapped around the one you love just about to go to bed... remember you have inner peace!!

some people will never be able to accept it, but as long as you are happy they shouldnt care. does her family like you? It may be a difficult relationship if the families dont agree on it, but if you truly love eachother it can work, and hopefully your famlies will come around.
