I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35.2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obliged to kill him myself?

The death sentence in the time referred to involved public stoning. And as Jesus made it clear, you are only entitled to cast the first stone if you are completely blameless yourself. (John 8:4).

No. Don't kill him. In Ephesians 4:6 it says: Do not sin in your anger. Murder is a sin. Exodus 20:13- You shall not murder. Tell your neighbor that Exodus 20:8 says 'Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy'.

Exodus 35:2 refers to a court of law. Before the sentence could be carried out, the person would have had to be tried and convicted. Kind of like if you had a neighbor who murdered someone. You would not have the right to walk over an execute them. They would have to be arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced first by the state which would then carry out the sentence. So, no, you would not have the right to smite you neighbor. You could, however, testify against him if he was arrested.

Morally Yes, however you may find that the Police take a pretty poor view of this as they are a bunch of heathans who dance the Samba on the Sabbath.

This like a lot of parts of scripture was a law given for a certain people at a certain time. This law for for the Israelites after they left Egypt. So the answer is no.

why take everything in the bible so literary, have you ever tried reading the bible more spiritually because God is spirit and that would make his Son spirit to , so don't you think that the bible speaks of another death and not the literal death you think about as human?

The 10 Commandments says thy shall not kill, so therefore what do you do, better to go to church and pray for him, thats if you do go to Church, I can not remember seeing you there the pass 10 years.
