the fallowing I think is the best just my opinion!
White: for pure
Purple: for royal
Gold: for 50 years
Because I want to have at least 50 years with this man!!!! so I hope I live to be at least 93 on this earth with him since I am 43 now!!!!! that is possible if Jesus tarry's that long any way!!!!
My Grandfather lived to be 102 almost 103 he only had 3 weeks left til his b-day and my great granddad was 91 or 92 when he died and I am in the best health of my whole life and getting better all the time!!!
I just got married back in July this year and I made my own wedding flowers and it was very pretty if you would like to see the flowers e-mail me and I will send you a copy of the photo or for $200.00
I will make you one just like it and mail it to you no matter where you live any way they were the perfect colours the materials were about $150.00 a lone so I have to have something for gas and mailing it and so for but I love doing flowers I have done flowers for more than 20 weddings over the last 20 years fresh and silk!!! the going rate for something like that really would be about $225. to $300.00 not including the shipping

I would first look at your favorite colors and then consider the season you are in. I am having a fall wedding and chose brown and fuschia. I love blue but blue is not really a fall color. Brown is really in with a lot of brides and it is easy to find a lot of wedding supplies in that color. Also, think of adding a metallic into the wedding colors to go with whatever colors you chose. My girls are wearing chocolate brown dresses with bronze or gold shoes. For the summer, a silver accent might be more appropriate. Keep in mind that if you pick a weird color, it might be hard to explain to people what color it is and you might come out with a different product. Or, you might have a hard time finding things such as ribbons in the right color. I saw in Martha Stewart Weddings an issue or two ago that red and aqua are an "in" color combo. They seem weird at first but actually look good together. So, good luck!

You have to think about what color you and your hunny like. This is your big day and you have to live with that choice. One of the biggest colors right now is chocolate brown with taupe, pink, aqua, Tiffany blue, copper, apple red, and even green. You have to remember how much color you want at your wedding. If you don't want to much then you do white tablecloths and white chair covers with just an overlay or runner on the table and a colored tie on the chair. But if you get torin between two colors then you can do every other chair and table in that second color. Also you have to remember what colors your flowers might be and what colors your braids maids are wearing. The point is do what makes you and your hunny happy no else should matter it is your day. Good- Luck! and Congrats!

First of all congratulations on your engagement!
I know this is going to sound odd but it works.
Visit your local paint store or Lowe's, Homedepot, etc and visit their paint department. They have just about every shade ever made. Take different samples of the colors that you thing go together best and see what your wedding party thinks.
When you finally decide on the colors that you like if you cannot find the dress combination in the store visit your local seamstress and see what he/she can do for you. The majority of the time their price ends up being less verses buying off the rack.
Don't go with the trend. They die out and 25 years later you might go, "What in the world was I thinking???" Enjoy your wedding, find colors that reflect who you are as a person and what you enjoy best.
Please visit our website and sign our guestbook letting me know if I helped

light colors...
If you want to stay traditional, nothing beats white. add a non-pastel color.
It's personal, but 'd rather not choose lavender or blue. They are overused, as if they were white.
But it would be interesting to see a shiny orange chiffon gown:) or a fuscia pink...on the couple. Then the bridesmaid and the rest should wear a toned down pink. It sort of encourages the right attention.
Stylistics could be gold or silver ribbons. I dont know how they'd actually turn out but im sure it'll work. It's not gonna be a wedding that guests would soon forget.
Should it interest you, here are the common color symbols, of course they are not absolute:)
lavender/purple- royalty, self-congratulations; spiritualit; immaturity
Blue- Cold intellect; fidelity; unemotionality; encourages the processes of thought; suggests depth
Green- bad luck; mixture of blue and yellow; colour of life, growth and healing
Yellow- Light yellow- on the side of white and red.- warmth of understanding, general goodness
Dark yellow- the darker, the more unease; jealousy; treachery; cowardice
Orange- royalty; warmth; encouraging and reassuring; health
Red- vigorous; danger
White- purity; hope; innocence
There you go. Who's getting married? The best of luck!

There is a new wedding site, Renewed Dreams, and they have color theme ideas for each season. The themes are shown in an actual photo and have color swatches beside them with a short description. Just click on the side bar, fall, spring, summer, and winter, then select "Color Themes."
The address is

I think the real question should be what are your favourite colours? That would be the best place to start, I found this is the best place to start.
If you can't decide on colours, then you could look at themes...that could be a starting point
